Porsche Consulting or PWC Management Consulting

#1 Porsche Consulting or PWC Management Consulting

Hausenpunk

I got an offer for an internship for both Porsche Consulting and PWC in the management consulting department.

What do you think is more valued from an employer's view?

Which one gives me the best opportunities in the future?

Porsche has an exceptional brand but is the consulting part actually as good as the impression?

PWC is surely nice, but is the management consulting actually a strategic consulting (since strategy& is more focused on that)?!

I would like to hear some opinion of you guys :)

Thanks

Mark

Are you a university undergraduate and can you share any more info about your career aspirations longer term? Hard to give good advice without knowing that...

Master in International Management at one of the biggest German universities, only master thesis left. So I am going to look for a full time job very soon. Career wise I'd like to go into Strategy Consulting, probably MBB is not realistic but maybe Tier 2...

Good to know the context.

The main value of a consulting internship isn't that it massively increases your appeal to other consulting employers. Strategy consulting practices will not consider that a few months of internship anywhere have transformed you into an amazing hire. So your choice here will not have a significant impact on you getting a job with other consulting firms.

Rather, the main value is that you get the opportunity to shine in a business that you would like to join. Impress a consulting partner during your internship and there's a decent chance you'll be offered a full-time position at the end of the internship. So if there's either of these businesses you would prefer to join long term, that's the one to do the internship with.

Hope that helps and good luck. Tony
