Consulting jobs at Capgemini
What sets Capgemini apart from most consulting companies is its unique approach to clients, called Collaborative Business Experience™. Capgemini’s consultants work with their clients, not just for them, which allows the clients to set the rules and play an active part in the transformation of their business. Team skills and collaboration are among the key qualities Capgemini recruiters look for in a job candidate.
Capgemini Australia is undergoing a period of fast growth, which also reflects on recruitment. The company recruits in six major areas: Capgemini Consulting, Technology Services, Outsourcing Services, Business Transformation Management, Financial Services and Local Professional Services. Consultants have a range of training courses at their disposal and are exposed to a variety of new challenges and experiences that allow them to develop new skills and strengthen the existing ones. Career advancement opportunities are based on merit and consultants’ eagerness to take on new responsibilities.

History
Capgemini was founded by the French businessman Serge Kampf as a data processing company and an enterprise management in Grenoble, France, in 1967. Kampf named the company Sogeti (Société pour la Gestion de l'Entreprise et le Traitement de l'Information). In the early 1970s, Sogeti made two key acquisitions: in 1973, it bought a majority stake in CAP, a European IT services company, and the following year it acquired Gemini Computers Systems, also an IT company, based in New York. In 1975, the company was renamed to CAP Gemini Sogeti. The two acquisitions made Capgemini a market leader in Europe, with offices in 21 countries. The U.S. branch was launched in 1981, positioning the company as a global leader in the IT services sector.
In the 1990s, Capgemini made another series of acquisitions that allowed it to build a strong management consulting practice. The company’s name was shortened to Cap Gemini, dropping the Sogeti name, in 1996. The renaming was followed by a re-branding campaign for all the operating companies and branches. In 2000, the company acquired Ernst & Young Consulting and integrated its management consulting arm Gemini Consulting to form Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. The company reverted to Capgemini, the name under which it still operates, in 2004.
Capgemini is helmed by CEO Paul Hermelin, while Serge Kampf still serves as Chairman.
